EZ Release Hook- Lead Engineer

I served as the lead engineer for EZRelease, an innovative non-piercing fishhook designed to make recreational fishing more sustainable and humane. Unlike traditional hooks, EZRelease uses a spring-based mechanism that gently expands within the fish’s mouth, securing the catch without causing incisions or internal injuries.

To validate our design, we conducted extensive user testing with both experienced anglers and novice fishermen. The feedback confirmed that EZRelease is reliable, effective, and user-friendly, making it an ideal solution for catch-and-release fishing.

Our target audience is recreational fishermen who want to enjoy the sport while remaining environmentally conscious. By reducing harm to fish, EZRelease helps anglers balance the joy of fishing with responsible stewardship of aquatic life.

This project reflects my passion for designing high-quality, practical products that merge engineering innovation with social and environmental responsibility. Please visit the attached website for a full overview of the product development process and our go-to-market strategy.
